I am completely obsessed with wreaths! I have a collection hanging on the walls of my garage for storage when not in use. I’m kinda running out of room! I’ve really been trying to eliminate some of the clutter in my home by decorating with everyday items that are versatile. Lately I have had a thing for burlap as well. I found the perfect solution to my storage problem that includes my new favorite fabric!
This quaint little blog, Nanny Goat, had the awesome idea of using a simple coat hanger bent into a circle, strips of burlap, and holiday accessories to make a wreath. I made my own version for Valentine’s Day. I followed her instructions on the blog to make the base wreath. Then I went to the dollar store and purchased some wire ribbon that was printed with red roses. I also purchased a heart shaped, pearl covered wedding ornament I found on sale at a local craft store that was going out of business.
Now I can remove the ribbon and ornament after Valentine’s Day, store those smaller items in a box or drawer, and replace them with decorations for each holiday.
This was an awesome solution to my dilemma, but now I have another problem. I just found colored burlap at the craft store. Now I want to swap the brown burlap out for colored burlap on the wreath (maybe pink or yellow for Easter)! Oh well, at least I still have only one actual base wreath to store. I guess I can always store the extra burlap with the ornaments.
